Keep A Moist Towelette On Hand Always

By Nita McKinney

Keeping hands and face clean when in a public place was once easy as vendors had napkins and towelettes in ample supply. Restaurants, amusement parks, and similar places always took pride in keeping restrooms well stocked. Nowadays, anyone venturing out there may benefit from keeping a moist towelette on their person.

Person hygiene is not limited to daily baths as people from all walks of life touch many surfaces and find themselves in situations where they are exposed to viruses. The use of buses and trains is a great example of this as there is potential of bacteria and germs that are airborne. This is one of hundreds of places where bacteria and more cannot be seen by smelled by a human alone.

While it is impossible to protect ones from every single foreign substance that may cause harm, having something that carries well can bring a little piece of mind. Some people like to carry around a liquid or gel based hand sanitizer, which are excellent in fighting off germs and bacteria. However, there are some disadvantages to doing this.

Those large bottles are not practical for keeping in most purses and messenger bags. While there are some designed for this purpose, sometimes its contents will leak and can ruin paper documents. While there are some ultra compact models that may be designed as a small aerosol pump or key ring, these do not last very long and need to be replaced almost immediately.

Most major supermarkets and drug stores sell towelettes in a variety of sizes at a reasonable price. The most popular are those packaged individually and can be carried around in pockets, purses, or anywhere discreet without fear of leakage. These come in scented and unscented versions as well as those designed to remove dirt and oil from skin.

When one is out and about, whether it be shopping outdoors or camping, this is a good way to protect hands and more from dirt and objects. They are most popular after eating a snack that is sweet or sticky. Napkins alone may leave a residue so it may be a good idea to keep these inside the glove compartment or purse so that one can be protected.

Younger generations can also learn from this habit as they enter social situations. The perfect example is school where teachers and classmates may bring their cold or flu with them. Instead of relying on the school to provide personal hygiene supplies for the classroom, kids can take the initiative to protect themselves by bringing their own.

Getting towelettes in the home is not hard and people should not feel the need to stock up from their favorite restaurant. Not only are they portable but inexpensive with a nice scent. Along with a good hand sanitizer, a moist towelette can help to protect all from cross contamination and provide some peace of mind.
