Liposomal Encapsulation Can Serve To Make Medicines More Effective

By Ida Dorsey

Liposomes improved the effects of the medication you use. Liposomal encapsulation is a form of nutrients that are protected by a thin membrane. They are very similar substances that make up ones cell allowing the nutrients to pass through the membranes in one piece and ready to work. This form of technology is not like pills and powder that one tends to take which tend to get flushed from the body.

The founder Mr Brooks Bradley showed that by combining water, lecithin and vitamin c together and then adding this little mixture to an ultrasonic bath it can produce a medical product. A simple recipe on how to make liposomes involves lecithin getting dissolved in a solvent. This could be chloroform or acetone and then once it has evaporated it will leave a thin layer on the container.

All medicines can be classified in different ways for example the small molecule drug is copied from chemical synthesis. The biopharmaceuticals include allergenic, gene therapies, vaccines and blood components as well as recombinant therapeutic protein. These are DNA molecules that are formed in laboratories by a means of genetic recombination or molecule cloning. They are brought together with genetic materials from several sources which then create a chain not found in natural organisms. They all share the same chemical make-up but only differ in the nucleotide chain.

The word liposome comes from two Greek words; the first is fat and the other body. They were first discovered while scientists were testing a new electron microscope and added a negative stain to dry phospholipids. This negative staining is a method used in diagnostic microscopy, for different small specimens with an optically opaque fluid.

All cancer cells tend to divide much quicker than the healthy cells and chemotherapy drugs are effective in targeting them. Even the fast growing healthy cells will be damaged in the process. With all the different cancer drugs out there just about every one of them has some bad side effects.

It is one of the safest nutrients and is known to help with the cure of the common cold as well as some more serious complications. It is great in helping with cardiovascular disease as well as prenatal health and eye problems. It is also believed that it might help with the prevention of cancers and getting strokes not to mention the fact that is can help to lengthen ones life span.

A recent study shows that liposomal vitamin C is more able to produce serum levels at a much higher dose than though possible. It dramatically increases the absorption into the blood and thereby into individual cells. This process lasts from the time the vitamin has made its way towards the gastrointestinal tract until it has reached the targeted tissue.

Liposomal encapsulation employs a phospholipids liposome to create a resistance that repels the unhelpful actions of the digestive juices as well as the free radicals of the body. These kinds of protection will last from the time the nutrients reach the GI tract until the contents has reached its target. They are absorbed by the cells and transferred into the intracellular spaces.
