By Haywood Raptis

Once people have used a spray tan booth rather than a tanning bed they will be very reluctant to return to the bed. The spray tan booth provides a more interesting experience although there are some people that would say that it is not the best indoor alternative for tanning. There is certain rules that should followed about the spray tan booth and these are followed the user will be very satisfied with the results.

The spray tan booth should not be very hard to find as most local tanning salons now offer this treatment. It is important to get as much information as possible prior to making use of the service so that you know how it works. The staff working the salon will be able to give advice and information and they can give advice on how to maximise the results of the treatment.

There is a few things you should do prior to getting the spray tan booth treatment done and these are to shower, exfoliate and shave. No indoor tanning lotions, moisturizers or soaps should be used and only the ones provided by the salon can be used.

Before you go into the spray tan booth all clothes, jewellery and make up should be removed. A shower cap should be put on before entering the spray tan booth in order to stop your hair from getting sprayed with the tanning mist. Barrier lotion will need to be applied to the palms of the hands as well as between the fingers and toes.

It is also important to hold your breath whilst in the spray tan booth and if you are not confident in your ability to do this then make use of a nose clip. You should also close your eyes during treatment and if you do not feel confident in tour ability to do this then eye protection must be worn.

Once all of the safety equipment is in place then you can press the button to activate the tanning mist and this button is located within the spray tan booth. The tanning mist will not have been heated prior to application therefore it will give a cold sensation during the treatment. Once the spray tan treatment is finished you should get dried off with a towel whilst being careful not to press to firmly. If there is any excess tanning solution left on the body it is likely to go streaky.

After you have dried off get your clothes back on and head home. The spray tan booth process will take about twenty minutes. Do not have a shower for at least seven hours after the treatment in order to get the maximum result from it, as the water will reduce the efficiency of the mist on the body.

The results of the spray tan booth will remain for about one week but will vary as it depends on the tanning mist used. Its a good idea to try various spray tan booths in order to locate the one that you prefer. Most people will not use any other method of indoor tanning once they have experienced the spray tan booth.
