How To Clean A Wetsuit And Keep It Fresh

By Janine Hughes

There is nothing beautiful as watching your kids play water games. As parents we know playtime is an essential for a young kids development. Children are very fond of playing in water and come up with a host of games that encompass the same. For parents their safety is foremost and that is why we take time to learn how to clean a wetsuit.

There are some simple things you can do to keep your suit in top condition. The material used in their production is called neoprene. This material does not do well in direct and intense sunlight. If you intend to dry it then you must place it in the cool shadows. The UV rays result in the material becoming older quicker than supposed to. The next step is the hardening of the material and loss of flexibility. In case you decide to dry it in the sunlight then it will be advantageous for you to remove it immediately it dries.

The location of storage must be a cool area that receives minimum sunlight. Another thing to inspect is the material should not come into contact with Hot water. If the contact is made the material begins to lose the flexibility it has. Ensure when you are taking a warm shower to take the gear off. This may disrupt your bathing experience but sometimes caution is better than leisure. Who knows you may find out that showering without a swimsuit is a better experience.

The trunk of your car is the wrong place to place your gear after a swimming session. It does you no good to have it cooked especially after a hot day. The best option for you is to have it with you at the front of the car.

Please put the windows down so there can be better circulation of air that cools down the car interior. Ensure after you have used it and hang it to dry both the inside and outside are completely dry. The reason for both sides drying at the same pace has to do with flexibility.

People wonder which is the correct way to store the gear. Out there, they are many opinions about this. A tried and tested option is to hang them on a wide hanger or a flat surface. Wide hangers are preferred as they do not leave the permanent creases in the suits shoulders.

They come at affordable prices so you do not have to worry about overspending your budget. You will come to realize that the kit is helpful especially as an emergency precaution. You will probably feel safer with it around.

Maintaining the wetsuit should be one of your primary goals for you to enjoy the proper performance. To ensure the particular material lasts long and gives you no headaches, it is proper for you to carry out regular cleaning. These gives you the peace of mind you require.
