Get Rid Of Acne Once And For All

By Farrah Thomas

Although zits is usually a temporary condition that is not dangerous, sometimes it can be a longer lasting, more severe type which can lead to scarring and pitting. This type of zits should be treated by a doctor because the scars left by pimples can be severe. This article can help you to understand why acne occurs and what to do about it.

To decrease your pimples breakouts, consider what types of things you are putting in your hair. Gels, sprays and oils can move onto your face very easily which then lead to clogged pores and skin irritations. It's best, if you are prone to zits, to stick with a mild shampoo and conditioner.

To help you eliminate acne you should be careful of the type of face wash you are using. Many products that claim to help get rid of acne can actually make it worse because they over-dry your skin causing it to break out further. Look for a face wash like Cetaphil that won't remove excess oil from your skin.

You should use a mild soap with natural ingredients instead of harsh chemicals twice a day to clean your face. The soap will gently remove oil, dirt, dead skin cells and other impurities and will achieve the best results in getting rid of your zits. Avoid those products that promise miracle cures for your acne, they likely will not work.

To treat pimples, use diluted tea tree oil on clean skin and allow it to dry. Put on an oil-free moisturizer and then go to bed. This will minimize the redness caused by acne and alleviate any pain and swelling. It can also help kill bacteria on your face that may be causing the zits.

One way to help prevent an pimples breakout is to sleep on your back. If you prefer to sleep on your stomach, then your face is constantly in contact with the oils deposited there by your hair and face, so sleeping on your back is recommended. Also, you need to wash your pillow cases regularly to remove these oils as well.

After you wash your face, you should use an exfoliating mask. Exfoliation will help remove the dead skin layers from your face. You should try to exfoliate your face, at least, once or twice a week. Doing this can help you clean your pores which will help you prevent or rid yourself of acne.

When using a topical treatment for acne, it's important to read and follow the directions on the label. This way you can make sure you're not making the break-out worse when using the treatment with a cleanser that may give your skin too much medicine or dry out your skin with too much use. Remember, the more irritated your skin gets, the longer it will take to heal.

As with any pursuit of personal health, information is critical to the fight against zits. By simply staying informed and setting up a scheduled plan to combat breakouts, you put yourself a step ahead of your pimples. By applying the foregoing tips, you can fight zits from a place of strength and take steps down the road to recovery.
