Top 5 Ways To Look Younger

By Rhonda Seriana

As we get older, our skin gets saggy and wrinkled and the muscles lose their tone. Unfortunately, we can look even older as a result of these natural ageing changes! Age causes these changes, but various external factors also lead to early onset of age-related changes because they damage the skin.

However, there are a few ways that one can take care of their skin and make sure it looks and stays young for years. Here are some tips to make sure this is the case.

1. Eat fresh fruit and vegetables

The antioxidants found in fresh fruits and vegetables fight the free radicals that form in the body due to exposure to pollutants and toxins. Skin cells are destroyed, the ageing body is visibly changed, and some forms of cancer are caused by these free radicals. Foods rich in vitamins C and E can help prevent early onset of ageing because they counteract these free radicals, by neutralizing them and preventing them from attacking the cells.

2. Use sunscreen

Sunscreen contains sun protection factors that protect the skin from harmful ultraviolet rays that are emitted by the sun. These UV rays can damage skin cells and leads to certain forms of skin cancer from constant exposure. High SPF sunscreens protect the skin and as a result can help it stay looking more youthful.

3. Face scrubs

Face scrubs allow new skin cells to form, thus keeping the skin healthy, by using tiny particles to gently exfoliate the surface layers of the skin. In addition, these products contain gentle skin cleansers that clean out dirt and bacteria from within the pores of the skin, keeping it healthy and preventing the formation of infections such as acne.

4. Botox injections

These days, botox injections are widely used all over the world to attain younger looking skin in literally minutes. They act by blocking the nerves that supply the skin and muscles of the face, increasing its tone and getting rid of lines and wrinkles. These days, it is the preferred treatment to stay young because it is so safe and effective. Affordable treatment also make this a sought after option for younger looking skin.

5. Enough sleep is important

Sleep plays an important role in maintaining our health, there is no doubt about that, and our youthful looks are no exception. Not only does a good night's rest 'reset' the body's functions, but skin rejuvenation takes place when we are sleeping. In fact, a lack of sleep is also associated with weight gain and low immunity.

There are a number of different ways to look and stay young. The above 5 methods are just a tip of the iceberg, but if observed strictly can help one stay young for a years to come.
