Caution In Taking Bioprotectant Supplement For Stress Relief

Doctors and patients need to understand that supplements are not the first remedy to turn to in times of depression or anxiety. They do nothing in addressing the real cause of stress. Just as it is with normal medications, bioprotectant supplement for stress relief should be used with caution and one needs to inform the health care professional when using this product.

The most effective way of dealing with stress is identification of the cause and addressing it. At times, this may require some adjustments in lifestyle and then everything else falls in place. Sometimes you can try meditation, exercises, yoga, tai chi and controlled breathing in dealing with stressful happenings. This is not something that can be picked by a medical scan or a laboratory test. It is on the mind. That is why the modalities employed in its management should be carefully thought about.

Before using herbal supplements, one should understand that the content and quality varies widely. That is why they must be taken after consultation with a practitioner of integrative medicine or any other expert who is familiar with the products. To note is that because many of these supplements are sedatives, they should not be taken with alcohol or other sedative conventional drugs.

For sleep to be effective, the muscles have to be completely relaxed. That is why some of these supplements are all about providing the nutrients needed by body muscles to relax. The common ones in this category include fatty acids which are essential, magnesium, vitamin C and the B complex vitamins.

Sleep happens gradually as one gets too tired to stay awake. A sleeping hormone termed as melatonin is released inside the body when a person is in a dark room. However, its production can be affected by aspects of age, daytime naps and crossing time zones. During such times, it would be fine to take a supplement that increases the levels of melatonin in the body.

Herbal tea is usually made from passionflower, chamomile, skullcap, hops and valerian. These products are very effective in promoting the onset and maintenance of sleep. According to research, the Korean Ginseng and the American one too are very effective in lowering the amount of stress hormone in the human body. This can be immediately following a stressful incident or after prolonged durations of depression. Much better results are realized when it is taken for a long duration.

Lemon balm is another type of a supplement which is an extra from the mint class. It induces calmness when taken and improves the mood. However, one has to take it in large quantities for better results. It should be taken two to three times in a day. Through research, its safety for use by human beings has been confirmed.

Passion flower is a very effective supplement in lowering anxiety. About 45 drops should be taken on a daily basis. It works the same as diazepam. Research is still on going about its safety for use in human beings and also its potency levels.
