How To Put On Tanning Bed Lotions

By Veronica Cappelletti

Many people want a fast tan, using the proper tanning bed lotions can give you a nice, bronze look faster than lying in a bed. This is not the same lotion you would use if you were trying to get your tan outside in the sun. It is specially formulated to work with the lights in the bed, and not damage the acrylic surfaces in them.

It is not uncommon for people to use a salon to get a tan. People who live in areas that have a lot of sun go so they do not have to worry about damage from the sun's UV rays. People who live in areas where the sun does not shine as much go to help the tan they are getting outside.

Regular tanning lotions use chemicals to increase the production of melanin, the substance that gives your skin color. They are activated by sunlight. This is not the same thing as a sunblock. You may actually look tan, but feel burned when you use one.

If you are going to be outside in the harsh sun, it is a good idea to use a sun block while using a product to help you tan. You could also use a bronzing product that will color your skin without having to be in the sun. These products will color wherever they touch, so be careful how you apply them.

When you make an appointment at a salon you are assured you will get some color. If you could be so certain the sun would be out and shining at the same time of your appointment you would get as much color in your back yard. A salon is a good way to get a head start on your tan.

To speed up the process, there are tanning bed lotions. They do not color your skin like a bronzing product. They are like normal tanning products, but without the oils that can ruin a bed.
