Using Organic Anti Aging Skin Care Products

By Rose Gill

With a growing concern raging over the safety of cosmetics, more and more people are choosing organic anti aging skin care products. With the ancient wisdom that Mother Nature knows best, people are seeking to be better informed about the products they use. The incidences of cancer have risen to a staggering degree, so now more than ever it is vital to pay attention to what we put on and in the body.

There are ethical issues one must address when choosing any line of facial cleansers, creams, or cosmetics. Many well-known cosmetic manufacturers have an established history of utilizing the practice of animal testing. When one purchases these products they are stating, in a sense, that they consider these practices to be acceptable. Many of these tests are unnecessary, as the scientists who are conducting them are well aware of the toxic nature of the ingredients they use.

Most of the products on the market contain known carcinogens, including many petroleum-based chemicals. Parabens, petroleum jellies, aluminum, formaldehyde and others are ingredients that any label reader knows can be found in ninety percent of the products out there. A complete list of cancer-causing chemicals in beauty products can easily be found on the internet, and savvy shoppers know to avoid them.

The fact is, all cosmetic, facial, and body products are absorbed into the body. Eye creams, deodorants, and lip balms or lipsticks are the most notable, although shampoo, hair dye, body lotion, and hand creams are all absorbed through the pores. These chemicals are not natural food-based ingredients, and as such, the body cannot process them appropriately. Over many years of use, these chemicals added up are known to cause malignant growths.

Some of these more harmful chemicals can actually clog pores rather than clearing them. Natural products are known to nourish and replenish without clogging pores. Many are flower-based or fruit-based, and when absorbed are processed through our bodies in a healthy and revitalizing manner. Teas, honeysuckle, rose, and citric fruits are just a few examples of ingredients used in healthy products.

It is not only men and women who must consider these issues, but teens are at risk of carcinogenic ingredients as well. Many of the traditional acne treatments are harsh and irritating, not to mention dangerous and unhealthy to absorb into the body. There are a number of cleaners, toners, and serums which are healthy, organic, and not any more expensive than the traditional varieties.

It is up to the parents to make certain that their young people are informed about the potential side effects of the products they use. Children are attracted to flashy packaging or labels with their favorite cartoon characters. Teenagers have a tendency to buy whatever a celebrity uses, or what their friends are buying.

Because of constant exposure to toxins in the environment, it is vital that people choose organic anti aging skin care products. As consumers, the real power is with the individuals who buy the products available on the market. The more people purchase these natural products, the more pressure it puts on cosmetics manufacturers to avoid the use of chemicals in their products.
