Reasons Why You Have Eye Bags

By Elena Barjaski

Perhaps one of the most common concerns of young and old ladies is the appearance of eye bags. Whether you are rich or poor, employed or unemployed you are prone to worrying about this issue. So that you'll be able to attend to this growing problem, you should first orient yourself on why people have these eye bags. Bags under eyes can majorly be due to the genes. There are those who are born to have flat contours around the eye area that will never bulge or sag. However, there are other that can have fat deposits around the eye area that can protrude.

Constant exposure to the sun can cause skin under the eyes to thin and have no resiliency which can help form eye bags. The ultraviolet rays from the sun alters the way skin cells reproduce, which in turn affects how collagen is made.

Another reason is fluid accumulation in the facial tissues especially when you just spend tons of hours reclined on your bed. Plus, consuming anything that causes you to retain excess water, such as eating a lot of salt, may cause facial tissues to swell leading to these bags. Allergies can also contribute to the appearance of eye bags since they cause swelling of mucous membranes including the one in the eye area. Illnesses such as hyperthyroidism can also highlight the eye bags. Another factor is the fluctuations in hormone levels that occur every month which can make eye bags look bigger or smaller.

Lastly, fatigue, tiredness and lack of sleep can also pave the way for these bags to appear. Increased levels of fatigue can influence how the skin will regenerate and heal. The skin can be less resistant thus making your eye bags stay longer.

Now that you know what causes these eye bags to sprout, then you can avoid these activities. But if just can't avoid these activities, you can just at least do these steps to just eliminate these eye bags. Number one thing to do is to never sleep on your back with the absence of a pillow. The presence of a pillow can help you avoid accumulation of fluid in the eyes. Another easy way is to just get enough sleep. You can also choose to put humidifying cream in the area around your eyes. Also much more important and cheaper is living a life free of stress and performing eye gymnastics.
